About Me! Debra Quilts USA & Our Travels

Hi Debra here.  I retired in 2011 and I needed a hobby, I had always loved the beauty of quilts - so - since I had much more free time on my hands I took a quilting class. I fell in love! I joined our local MQG (ModernQuilting Guild) and I have learned so much, from members local and on line. I think it's awesome that the Internet has become such a hot spot for quilting, thanks to the MQG.  Anyway, Debra Quilts USA came about because we - Joe  and I - bought a big Motorhome, Tiffin Allegro Bus 43 ft with Four slides, to see this great nation of ours first hand. I moved my sewing machine, stash and whatnots into our rolling one bedroom suite and off we went.

We had quite an exciting year so far.  We had our first grandchild, Colton Matthew, he is so adorable. We like to hike, bike, kayak basically be outside and I try to fit my sewing in on our down days.  We picked up the MH in March in South Florida and we have been to Canada and back. We had a smashing good time in upstate NY visiting my sister Juli and kyaking Mirror Lake, Lake Placid and the Saranac Lakes.  We paddled through the small watercraft locks from middle to the upper lakes. That was really cool. The Saranacs have some spectacular hiking as well.  The vistas are WOW!

Talk to you soon. Any other traveling quilters or sewests out there, give me a shout, I would love to hear from you.
